The apartment is on the top floor of an ancient palace overlooking on the main canal of Guglie Bridge in Sestiere Cannaregio.

The project consists in a transformation of this unit in a new space, with some variations about the functions, and changes in the existing distribution system.

The living room became the main room of the apartment and the other spaces develop around it. The protagonist of this big open space is the staircase, connected to a new wall system. This wall is windowed, with shelves at different heights, to be used as a bookcase. The staircase is made in metal and has a glass walking surface, with a steel parapet, that leads to an attic, illuminated by a new roof skylight.

The materials chosen for the interiors are: wood, natural and light for the flooring and white for fornitures and the beamed ceiling, black steel and textiles in natural colors of different shades. Finally the apartment appears charismatic and modern, and at the same time well included in venetian context.
